2016 has flashed before our eyes with so many highs and lows, all I can literally say is what a year. I guess because a majority of my year was spent in my study or in exams the whole year flew past - I've ended friendships and gained some. The world has lost some heroes and gained some. I thought I'd do a post on the highlights of my year :




The biggest thing for me had to be completing year 11, at the time it literally seemed like the most unreachable thing purely based on how much pressure we had. Now that I'm doing my A Levels I would rather do year 11 20x than the 3 subjects I have to do. But, as everyone keeps saying 'its all a learning process' which in actual fact they don't prepare you for. I know I'm not the only one who feels like everything leads up to your GCSE's, then after that they kind of throw you into the deep end and see who floats. Mad.


 The entire 'melanin goddesses' movement from the girls that decided to go entirely natural to those who started more makeup brands for WOC, I salute you. This year the #blacklivesmatter brought the black community together more than ever - honestly it was amazing to see all shades of melanin come together to fight for something bigger than all of us. 2016 proved that our fight for both justice and equality has moved many paces backwards than forwards. The wars that have occurred are only whispering in the shadows, the fight isn't over.

Well Good morning/afternoon/evening or anything in between,

Can you believe we're up to 3 posts this week? To be quite honest I can't, since I go through seasons of not posting this is rare - not anyone elses fault but my own. September went by super fast that now its becoming darker earlier and hella cold too, which as a result causes flu season. I'm over this all already and miss the warmth - not the kind that comes and goes during October. I want to have ice cream without a blanket, to have a cold shower not a boiling hot bath.

I guess what I'm trying to say is 'summer where you at'. Summer is over. But, I'm still reminiscing over it all because I realised how quick it went. Today I was literally going through my summer photos and came across my carni ones. Carnival legit is the weekend to end all weekends in summer and I got to spend it with some amazing people. Good vibes and good people is the recipe for the ultimate end to summer.

Even though summer is over, a new season is beginning and its time to embrace it. So put away your shorts and grab your faux fur. It's gonna be cold one, I can feel it.

Summer Sixteen saw the beginning of a whole new me. After being enclosed for such a long time doing my GCSEs I really wanted, craved a change - as always the change was my hair. Blue for me, especially this blue had me in awe - to be honest it had everyone like oh my days she did that. I think it gave me a sense of confidence too, it takes a lot to leave the house for the first time with blue hair. I tested the waters first by going to Morrisons - mate that was the scariest shopping trip of my life, plus all I bought was Snickers. I loved the movement WOC started of bold colours on natural hair - obviously I have relaxed hair so that wouldn't work, plus I didn't want to dye my own hair. Also, I saw Adelaine Morins nails :

The whole holographic blue had me mesmerized beyond words can explain - also Jennie Jenkins had green so I thought why not. I know we're all back at school, starting uni or leaving different places - but the fact is as we all begin new areas, or go back to where we are start with a new mindset. It might sound silly but sometimes I still feel like I'm wearing the blue - purely based on how I carry myself.


Actual info about the hair : it's from Aliexpress and always the links become dead after a while. As I think this whole 'hair series' will probably continue, I'll do some other pieces on my hair collection. My mum actually congratulated me on my progress in wig making and styling - that's a first.

So, don't hate me but here I am again with a new post that actually isn't fashion related. Every week there are those questions that always seem to make their way to me like - 'are you from Ethiopia?' 'is that your real hair?' and then the one that appears most 'HOW DO YOU DO YOUR EDGES?'. I'm not going to say that I spend hours and hours in crafting my edges - but like I have grown in the 'Art of Edges'. You know them ones you see peoople (or yourself) laughing about on insta - looking like a phone number or S's. Yeah, that was me. No evidence is available on social media before you guys start looking...



 Okay so, like any other WOC I use my little old toothbrush - in my opinion the harder the bristles the harder it will be to create the curl pattern. A good silk scarf - mate no exaggeration this is actually the major key. I'm sorry for the DJ Khaled reference but... Sorry not sorry. If you think about it wrapping your hair before bed is the best thing for it - preventing hair loss, oil transfer and friction. This post is soooo overdue I don't even know why but it is. So, exams were over and literally the first thing on our lists was Wireless - we went on Sunday to see BBK obviously and I can't even explain how amazing it was. Can't lie I was maaaad to find out some of my friends had paid half price using some code, Wireless didn't sell out like in the past and to be honest we weren't going to go. But, when they added in new acts like 'Big Sean' and a whole other range of artists.


 Skepta brought out Pharrell Williams to perform their song Numbers which I have to admit has been on repeat since the album was released . I got to meet the beaut Aliyah Maria Bee, you've probably seen on Twitter or her YouTube. I literally had to scream her name to get a photo with her, I recognised her friend but forgot his name as I am now... Anyway, so that happened and then there was food - listen, those chips were amazing the cheese urghhhhh. Can't lie they were mad expensieve so if they weren't good I swear I would have lost the plot.




My friend took these shots of Skepta and Big Sean, which are actually really good so thanks Nadia. So, the whole Wireless experience was amazing the whole atmosphere - except the fact that some of our stuff got stolen but hey.If you guys ever want to go I would absolutely recommend going, you meet some really good people. Last week, when it wasn't actually raining for the first time in ages, me and squaaaad went out for a picnic which literally consisted of music and pizza. Shoutout to the pizza delivery man that actually came into the park to deliver the pizza - that's real love man. Surprisingly, this weekend doesn't look that bad in terms of weather - so I thought my next playlist should consist of vibes for you when you'red with your friends. It's really a mix of a lot of different vibes to be honest, but hopefully you'll enjoy it and be able to explore new music as the series goes on..

Good music = good vibes. Simple science obviously. In summer there are so many moods that seem to spring to mind during this season, can be due to weather or even the people you're with. I constantly listen to music and surprisingly I actually listen to a lot more than what I lead on, it's not everyday bashment or rap sometimes I listen to afrobeats or World music. I know I know not surprising but I mix it up, I like to expose myself to new music even if I don't understand it fully. Fun fact - during my textiles exam prep I listened to a lot of french music, there something about it that is actually therapeutic and helped me at 3am. 



I thought since I listen to such a variety of music I'd create a series on the blog that features a playlist of different sets of music that fit well together - they may not be artists you listen to but hopefully you'll find something you like as the series progresses.

Okay so some of you may or may not know that I started a YouTube channel. Well, I think I kind of wanted to explain why I started it and also document it so I have a hard copy that I can always turn to. So, at the beginning of this year precisely my blogs 5th birthday I always myself a plan for the next year ( I know super organised and that) however this year I couldn't do that at all due to my GCSEs. Side note - anyone else doing exams at my age do you feel like everyone around you is kinda like, 'don't worry GCSEs don't mean anything' or 'you'll be fine'. OH MY DAYS. You just went through it and yes you might be at a different stage in your life but you know how it was like urghhhhhhh.I'm just sick of hearing it and I can take it but I know that some of you guys must be hearing it and are underestimating the value of any exam - genuinely. Ok rant over or else I'll end up talking about this for ages. BUT on a serious note never let it get to your head that all your hard work doesn't mean anything, truth is without it you won't be able to move on to the next stage in your life. I don't even know if that made any sense but you get the gist.

Back to why I started Youtube, the main reason why I started is because I realised the youtubers I watch are old enough to be my older sisters - which don't get me wrong isn't a bad thing but there aren't any of the same age group as myself. I spoke to my friends about it and they literally said the same thing, it's true like think about it when was the last time you watched a Youtuber under the age of 20. There may be a few but not as many as you would think there are. That's my main reason for starting.





My channel is under 'TSLondon' if you search it up, I haven't found my niche yet to be honest but I'm buzzing to explore my options. I've covered a bit already from a vlog to a beauty orientated video. I'm still looking into doing other bits and bobs but its only the beginning. You know what's funny? I feel so open telling my readers about it but telling friends is still such a struggle. I legit haven't told that many people, you're probably wondering why. Think about it this way - it's easier to sing in front of a crowd that don't know you than people you personally know, why? Because the strangers have nothing to base your performance on - I guess that's why I've literally only told the people who I know will actually support me.

Well yes it's been a while now hasn't it?

Hello everyone,

Ayyy we made it into the new year, and I am grateful. Honestly, 2015 was a whirlwind of events that's all I can say. Those of you who were born on Feb 29th you finally get an actual birthday after 4 years . There were certainly some major highlights that looking into 2016 I can only hope are bigger and better. For many of us we've all accumulated New Years Resolutions ; that we all think will last the entire year, but in reality they don't even last a week. Seriously though, props to those of you who stick to them.

For me, personally, this year I made 0 resolutions because I know they just won't stick. But instead of that tomfoolery I set myself goals, placing them into categories :

1. Personal Goals
2. Educational Goals
3. Career/Business Goals
4. Spiritual Goals
